What Does It Look Like to Be a Strong Christian Man?

Strength is a word our culture throws around a lot. It’s often measured in power, status, toughness, or self-reliance. But Scripture paints a very different picture of what it means to be a strong Christian man. One shaped not by ego, but by obedience; not by control, but by character; not by pride, but by surrender to Christ.
A strong Christian man begins with faithful dependence on God. True strength isn’t found in having all the answers or never struggling, it’s found in trusting the Lord daily, especially when the path is unclear. Colossians reminds us that Christ in us is our hope of glory, and that we labor and strive by His power, not our own. Strength starts on our knees before it ever shows up in our actions.
Strength also shows up as spiritual leadership. A strong man leads first by example, loving his wife sacrificially, discipling his children intentionally, and serving his church faithfully. Leadership doesn’t mean domination; it means responsibility. It means choosing faithfulness when no one is watching and pointing others toward Jesus in both word and deed.
A strong Christian man is marked by integrity and consistency. His faith isn’t something he turns on for Sundays, it shapes how he works, how he speaks, how he treats others, and how he handles adversity. He strives to live the same life in private that he presents in public, knowing that character matters more than image.
Finally, strength includes brotherhood and accountability. God never intended men to walk alone. We need other men who will challenge us, encourage us, pray for us, and sharpen us. Growth happens best in community, where honesty replaces isolation and grace fuels growth.
Man Up: A Call to Biblical Strength
That’s why I'm excited to invite you to Man Up, our Men’s Conference happening January 30–31, 2026 at Immanuel Baptist Church. This isn’t about hype or hype-driven masculinity, it’s about calling men to a biblical, Christ-centered vision of strength.
Over these two days, you’ll experience:
Clear, challenging teaching rooted in God’s Word
Powerful worship
Time with other men who want to grow in their walk with Christ
Encouragement to lead with faith, humility, and courage
Whether you feel strong right now or worn down, confident or struggling, this conference is for you. You don’t have to have it all together, you just have to be willing to show up and let God do the work.
Now is the time to step up, stand firm, and pursue the strength that only Christ can give. Mark your calendar for January 30–31, invite another man to come with you, and join us for Man Up.
