I married my high school sweetheart and enlisted in the United States Air Force right after graduating high school. That decision launched a season of life that would shape how I view leadership, responsibility, and service. For nine years, I served as an avionics technician on B-1 and C-130 aircraft, followed by four years teaching 5-level and 7-level courses. Those early years taught me discipline, accountability, and the importance of doing the job right—even when no one i
